Back to band infoHenri AanstootHighland Pipes, Small Pipes, Whistles.
Henri Aanstoot Henri started in November 1983 with learning to play the Scottish bagpipes. That was with the Cοncοrd Ρipeband , where he has played for about 10 years. When he stopped there he had the rank of pipe corporal. After that he was instructor and player with the Apeldoornse pipeband 48th Highlanders of Holland. Because of his work, he could no longer play there. A few years later he was asked by the City of Amsterdam Pipeband to play with them, due to the long travel distance and time again he had to quit. |
Now he is the instructor (of the instructors)of the Highland Valley Pipe Band in Borculo. Here he also plays the music for the Highland Dancers. Over the years, he has also built up a large collection of bagpipe music, for which he has made a online tune search webpage. Presently he is working on a own tunebook. After buying a original Low-D whistle, he wanted to play in other keys. So he made a G and en E-flat himself. |
Henri's favorite tune is: Pop goes the Weasel.
Saying: Hand me those strings.
Weirdest thing done in the last few months: Playing Christmas-songs next to the band's Christmas tree, with Christmas lights attached to his pipes. Is known to miss his queue when the band plays Drunken Sailor, so the others have to repeat the chorus.
